Alpha School, Porur, joyfully celebrated International Picnic Day with the students of Kindergarten to Grade 2, turning the school grounds into a cheerful outdoor haven. The little ones arrived with colourful umbrellas, delicious snacks, refreshing juice, and their favourite toys, excited for a day of fun under the sun. The children enjoyed sharing their treats, playing lively games, and relaxing together in the open space. The celebration promoted values of sharing, bonding, and joyful living—creating beautiful memories for our young learners. It was truly a day filled with laughter, smiles, and the simple joys of childhood.

KG Dessert Day was a sweet and memorable celebration where our little chefs explored the joy of cooking and the importance of healthy eating! The day was filled with fun activities, delicious treats, and valuable lessons in teamwork and creativity. Our LKG kids kicked off the event by making fruit salad and Oreo cupcakes. They brought their favorite fruits, learned how to clean and cut them, and enjoyed the fresh, delicious creations they made themselves. The UKG-A children showcased their skills by preparing Nannari Sarbath with chia seeds, Rasmalai, and Milk Peda enriched with nuts. UKG-B added to the sweetness with tender coconut payasam, carrot halwa, and bread cake. Each dish was crafted with love and packed with flavours and health benefits. Dressed as mini chefs in aprons and hats, the little ones displayed their culinary talents while learning the values of teamwork, sharing, and healthy habits. It was truly a day to remember, filled with laughter, learning, and lots of yummy desserts!”

On March 1st 2025, Alpha School, Porur, joyfully celebrated its Kindergarten Graduation Day. With radiant smiles and hearts full of excitement, our little graduates donned their caps and gowns, standing proudly against a beautifully adorned backdrop. Throughout the year, these young learners have flourished, growing not only in stature but also in confidence and enthusiasm. The event was graced by the esteemed chief guest, Mrs. Suba Robert, Founder of Little Stars Play School, who applauded the young graduates for their wonderful accomplishments. The celebration was enriched by lively performances. The students from LKG presented a vibrant welcome dance and a charming ramp walk, showcasing their dreams of what they aspire to become. UKG students added to the festive spirit with heartfelt songs, celebrating their journey and achievements. Remarkably, all roles, from the MC to the welcome speech and the activity report, were carried out by the KG students, reflecting their confidence and growth. A highlight of the event was the parent felicitation, where families expressed their appreciation for the school’s efforts in nurturing every child’s potential. They commended the teachers for recognizing each child’s unique strengths and providing opportunities for all students to shine. The 78th Independence of India, dawned at Alpha School, Porur on 15th August 2024 with a spirit of patriotism and unity. The tricolour soared high as the national flag was unfurled by the principal Mrs.Shynu John, invoking a sense of pride. The choir’s resonant patriotic melodies stirred emotions, while captivating dance performances by both primary and senior students wove a visual tale of our nation’s journey towards freedom. The head of the social studies department Mrs.Diana Darling kindled the patriotic spirit among the students through her inspirational Independence Daymessage along with a vibrant question and answer session about this nationand the freedom struggle. Winners of the question and session were awarded with a token of appreciation. To understand the significance of community and the cultural richness of Onam, the little stars of Alpha School, Porur, celebrated the festival on 13th September 2024 with great enthusiasm. They engaged in traditional activities that captured the spirit of Onam. The children took part in creating a beautiful Pookalam, a flower rangoli, which is an essential part of Onam festivities. The vibrant flowers used in the rangoli brought a burst of color and joy to the event, while also encouraging creativity and teamwork among the young learners. “Sharing is a way of life that brings joy to everyone.” To instill the habit of sharing, the children also enjoyed and shared traditional Onam delicacies. This celebration helped the children appreciate the values of community, tradition, and the cultural significance of Onam, fostering a sense of unity and joy.

The students of Kindergarten and Grade 1 from Alpha School, Porur were filled with excitement as they set off for a fun-filled day of exploration at Guindy National Park on 11th September 2024.The children had the chance to experience the wonders of nature up close. They were amazed to see animals like deer, peacock, and monkeys while also enjoying the park’s lush greenery. Students asked many questions and were eager to learn more about the animals and snakes they saw at the Snake Park. Children also enjoyed playing on the swings and slides with their friends. The teachers helped the students connect what they learned in school to the world around them. They returned with happy memories and an incredible learning experience

The students of grades VI to VIII embarked on an exciting field trip, to Eco Kitchen, the city’s thoughtful catering service on 30th August 2024 The students were greeted with warm smiles as they entered the Eco Kitchen. The visit was more than just an educational trip; it was a comprehensive learning experience that left a lasting impact on the students. The highlight wasthe kitchen tour, where the students witnessed the captivating bustling activity of chefs preparing delicious vegetarian meals and healthy vegetarian snacks. They were fascinated by the state-of-the-art equipment and the meticulous process of creating each dish. The day was filled with excitement, curiosity, and camaraderie, as they wrapped up the trip with a delightful communal feast. This enriching experience broadened the students’ horizons and inspired them to make a positive difference in their community, leaving them with unforgettable memories and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Our beloved Principal also shared a few words of wisdom, emphasizing the importance of nurturing each child’s unique potential The event also featured special memory games for both fathers and mothers, adding an element of fun and friendly competition. The winners were celebrated with prizes, making the day even more enjoyable for everyone involved.

The LKG students showcased their creativity this Diwali by crafting innovative rocket crackers. These colorful creations symbolize the spread of love, happiness, and blessings, reminding us of the true spirit of the festival—a celebration of light over darkness and joy in unity. Meanwhile, our young UKG artists brought the festival to life through a vibrant Diwali diya collage. Using three different coloured papers, they skillfully cut out shapes and patterns, assembling them into a stunning representation of the festival of lights. Their artwork radiates the beauty and warmth of Diwali, reminding us that even small hands can create big wonders.

On September 12th, the students of Grades 4 and 5 from Alpha School, Porur, went on an exciting educational trip to Dakshin Chitra, a heritage museum located near Chennai. This enriching experience allowed the young learners to explore the diverse culture, traditions, and craftsmanship of South India. The visit to Dakshin Chitra provided a unique opportunity to witness traditional homes from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. Each home showcased regional architectural styles, giving students a glimpse into the past. The students were fascinated by the intricate designs and the historical significance behind these structures. In addition to exploring the homes, the students were also fascinated by live demonstrations of traditional crafts, such as pottery, weaving, and puppet making. These interactive sessions not only enhanced their understanding of various art forms but also allowed them to appreciate the skill and creativity involved in these traditional practices.
