On September 12th, the students of Grades 4 and 5 from Alpha School, Porur, went on an exciting educational trip to Dakshin Chitra, a heritage museum located near Chennai. This enriching experience allowed the young learners to explore the diverse culture, traditions, and craftsmanship of South India. The visit to Dakshin Chitra provided a unique opportunity to witness traditional homes from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. Each home showcased regional architectural styles, giving students a glimpse into the past. The students were fascinated by the intricate designs and the historical significance behind these structures. In addition to exploring the homes, the students were also fascinated by live demonstrations of traditional crafts, such as pottery, weaving, and puppet making.
