KG Talent Display

“Everyone has talent. What is rare is the courage to showcase it.” To enhance artistic skills and foster public speaking abilities among the young learners, Alpha School, Porur, organized a colouring and Show and Tell competition for KG students. The LKG tiny tots participated with great enthusiasm, engaging in the competition by joyfully colouring our national flag Meanwhile the Upper Kindergarten students were eager to present their descriptive narrations, excitedly waiting for their turn to share fascinating facts about our country. This activity not only expanded the students’ vocabulary but also gave their confidence a noticeable boost. . At Alpha School, we believe in the potential of every child, and organizing such competitions helps nurture their intrinsic qualities while overcoming stage fear. Overall, the competition was a valuable learning experience, providing students with a platform to discover and showcase their hidden talents.

KG Friendship Day Celebration

“A Rainbow of Friends is a Dream We Can Share, Where Everyone’s Treated with Kindness and Care.” Our UKG students had a delightful Friendship Day celebration, full of creativity and love. Teachers prepared colorful chart paper bands with patterns like butterflies and circles, and each child colored their band with vibrant crayons, expressing their individuality. Meanwhile, our LKG students celebrated by tying friendship bands to their favorite friends, making the day even more special. This fun and engaging activity highlighted the importance of friendship, sharing, and the joy of bonding with friends.”

The Kindergarten Graduation Day -2023-2024

The Kindergarten Graduation Day of 2023-2024 was held in a resplendent manner on 6th April, 2024. The chief guest of the day, Mrs Reena Alfred was all in awe and commendation for the unparalleled talents of the tiny tots presented on the day. Our little graduates were dressed up in graduation gowns along the beautifully decorated backgrounds, ready to celebrate their success. The kiddie winks have not only grown in inches but also in confidence throughout the year. The day was an amalgamation of innocence, love and joy on their first milestone.

Field Trip Grade II & III

On September 10, 2024,students of Grade II and IIIof Alpha School, Porurvisited theLotte Choco PieFactory as part of their curriculum’s educational program. The students were excited to learn about how the product is madeand the packing procedures for it.They were guided by a chef who explained the products in detail. Before entering the production area students and teachers were provided with a mask. During the visit, there was a one-hour question-and-answer session between the students and the host. Different workers handled various tasks, showcasing teamwork.Students also noticed safety gear, emergency exits, and clear instructions. The trip was beneficial for the students inlearning various factors such as teamwork and collaboration are crucial, machines and automation simplify tasks, quality control ensures customer satisfaction and above all safety is a top priority. The fun moments during the trip includedsampling products fresh off the production line, interacting with friendly factory staff and of course watchingthe machines in action. The students were also given gift hampers from Lotte Choco Pie. In a nutshell thevisit was an enriching experience for the students, providing valuable insights into industrial processes and teamwork.This visit aligned with our curriculum goals, fostering curiosity and critical thinking. The students’ enthusiasm and engagement made the experience truly rewarding.They returned backto school with new knowledge and unforgettable memories.

ANNUAL DAY – 2023-24

The 9th Annual Day celebration of Alpha School, Porur, “Sinfonietta ” was indeed agrand and memorable event. The theme “Sinfonietta” symbolized the school’s intention to blend music with other art forms, showcasing the unifying and uplifting power of symphonies. The event was graced by distinguished guests – Mrs. Suja George, Vice Chairperson of the Alpha group of Institutions, ourChief Guest of the dayMs Shalini Medepalli, Deputy Head of Mission, British Deputy High Commission, Chennai, our Guest of Honour,Dr. G. Vanitha,Deputy Commissioner, Crime Against Women & Children, Chennai,Mrs. Ramani George, DeanAcademics, Alpha group of Institutions,Mrs.Sumathy Ashok, Principal, Alpha International School,Sembakkam, Dr.Sivasankar,Principal,Alpha Arts and Science College,Ms. Mercy Amalraj, alongside the school’s Principal Ms. Shynu John and Vice Principal Ms. Felshia Raj. The celebration commenced with a prayer, emphasizing the transformative power of prayer in achieving the extraordinary. This was followed by a Bible reading, highlighting the strength and guidance derived from the word of God. The welcome address set the tone for a warm and inclusive celebration. The event featured an inspiring Keynote address by the Vice Chairperson,Mrs.Suja George sharing motivating insights and encouraging excellence and leadership in the entire school community. The Chief Guest of the day Ms. Shalini MedapalliDeputy Head of Mission, British Deputy High Commission, applauded the management, staff and students for the tremendous efforts taken in organising the spectacular show and urged to keep up the good work. The guest of honour Dr.G.Vanitha,Deputy Commissioner, Crime Against Women & Children, Chennai,enlightened the parent community on the safe upbringing of their ward in the challenging scenarios of today’s world. The prize distribution ceremony recognized students’ achievements in academics, diligence, and talent, celebrating their hard work and contributions over the academic year 2022-2023. The event also honoured, long-serving teachers for their dedication and service. The annual report presented by the principal encapsulated the school’s achievements and milestones, reflecting on the journey of leadership, humility, and perseverance. The report showcased the school’s commitment to fostering a nurturing and inspiring environment for both students and staff, highlighting the successful academic and extracurricular endeavours of the year. This year’s cultural event ‘Sinfonietta’ was a vibrant showcase of global music and dance traditions, performed brilliantly by our students across various grades. The evening took us on a journey through the lively Ukrainian dance by our kindergarteners, the graceful Hawaiian Hula by second graders, the rhythmic South Indian dances of Paraiattam and Mohiniattam by fifth graders, the spirited Cowboy Dance by our youngest kindergarteners, the energetic Punjabi dance by first graders, the nostalgic Retro and Disco by sixth graders, and the joyful Garba by fourth graders. Each performance celebrated the rich cultural heritage of different regions, displaying the talent and enthusiasm of our young performers. The event included a heart-warming skit, “The Sound of Music, “a stunning Musical presented by the talented artists of Alpha, reminding us of the power of love, courage, and determination. The school choir mesmerized the audience with their angelic voices along with the incredible orchestra that presented the scintillating ‘Sinfonietta’ a breath-taking instrumental show by the young musicians of Alpha. This year’s cultural celebration was a testament to the diversity and unity of our school community, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts and memories. Overall, Sinfonietta 2024 was a celebration of success, talent, and the harmonious blend of diverse art forms, marking another significant milestone in the history of Alpha School, Porur.

July 7th – Chocolate Day

Celebrating Chocolate Day at school was a delightful affair for the Alphians of Porur. Students showcased their creativity by crafting captivating collages and art pieces using vibrant chocolate wrappers. This event not only stirred artistic expression but also highlighted the universal love for chocolates. It was a day where indulgence met imagination, leaving sweet memories for everyone involved.

Grandparents Day

Grandparents are the roots, the strong foundation of a family. Through their special love and care, grandparents keep a family close at heart. As a token of love and appreciation for all grandparents, Alpha School Porur, organized a ‘Grandparents Day Celebration’ by the Kindergarten students on 28th October 2023. The event began with a warm welcome note and a cute song sung by our children for their grandparents. The program included, a skit performed by our tiny tots, showcasing the wisdom and values passed down through generations. The celebration wouldn’t have been complete without the lively dance performances of enthusiastic kindergartners. Children moved gracefully expressing the joy and energy that grandparents infuse into their lives. Many exciting games were also conducted to provide an opportunity for all the grandparents to relive their childhood memories. The ambiance was filled with smiles, fun, affection, happiness, and joy and grandparents also took pictures with their grandchildren to cherish the memories of this day.

TENT DAY

Tent Day was a indeed a memorable day for the tiny tots of Alpha School, Porur. The students had loads of fun and surprises. The students danced and sang along the campfire and also played and rested in their tents, it was a party time with peers and teachers.

STAFF CHRISTMAS PROGRAM

The Management of the Alpha Group of Institutions organized a splendid Christmas Party for the entire staff community of all the seven institutions on December 21st 2023 at Alpha School, CIT Nagar. We thank them for their leadership and commitment to creating a vibrant and supportive work environment & their vision for fostering a sense of unity and joy within Alpha Group of Institutions through these initiatives. Our Christmas party provided a wonderful opportunity for all the staff to come together, unwind, and celebrate the festive season as a unified team.

July 5th – Investiture Ceremony

On July 5th 2023, Alpha School, Porur, organized the Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2023-24. The ceremony was a moment of pride and promise. The Head boy and Head Girl led by example, taking solemn oaths that echoed determination and leadership. Adding to the event’s significance, the captains and vice-captains of the four houses were appointed along with the Sports Captain and Cultural Secretary solidifying the spirit of healthy competition and teamwork. Additionally, class leaders were adorned with badges, signifying their roles . Rev. Justin Jose Youth Chaplain of Chennai Centre of the Malankara MarThoma Syrian Church was the dignitary for the day who gave encouraging words not just for the future student body of the school but for the entire school committee. This holistic ceremony reflected the school’s commitment to nurturing capable and responsible leaders.
