Let’s all embrace the happiness and prosperity of Onam! To understand the significance of community and the cultural richness of Onam, the little stars of Alpha School, Porur, celebrated the festival on 13th September 2024 with great enthusiasm. They engaged in traditional activities that captured the spirit of Onam. The children took part in creating a beautiful Pookalam, a flower rangoli, which is an essential part of Onam festivities. The vibrant flowers used in the rangoli brought a burst of color and joy to the event, while also encouraging creativity and teamwork among the young learners. “Sharing is a way of life that brings joy to everyone.” To instill the habit of sharing, the children also enjoyed and shared traditional Onam delicacies. This celebration helped the children appreciate the values of community, tradition, and the cultural significance of Onam, fostering a sense of unity and joy.
